This is from a regularly scheduled Everglades Bike Club weekend ride in Key Biscayne, USA, on a 10km stretch of road, and all the drivers know to expect it will be there in the mornings.

We're talking about around 100 people taking as much space as 10 cars... The road's public they have the fucking right to be on it.

    Yea but the standard is that slower traffic keeps right, we don't have to block the entire roadway left to right

    The only case where bikes should be the entire road is if its an official event with road closures to accomodate

    imagine the rage against cars if there was a picture of cars doing a rolling blockade like this. People would be apoplectic

    If its wrong for cars to do it, its wrong for anyone else to do it too. And if you don't think thats true, then you're a hypocrite (general you, not accosting you, Baguette)

    IN my many many decades I've never seen anything but police match speed and drive abreast to become a rolling barricade..and that was only to bring traffic to a halt due to an accident up a head.

    I used to do that during stop and go traffic, after I saw a couple semis doing it. If you can gauge the average speed of traffic and smooth out the irregularities, everyone gets there at the same time, but we all have a much more relaxed drive.

    Now I ride a motorcycle so I can simply go around/between traffic.

    That is strictly an interstate highway standard. This is a local stroad in Florida. Keep right unless passing does not apply here.

    If we want to be really pedantic then yes Florida is one of the states that actually has a law for keep right on any multilane road, including the one in the video

    Bike clubs have a leader who manages the group. No one is outpacing the ride leader. It's not a free for all race, it's just a club

    Like it's not hard to recognize biking is a great mode of transportation but you should not block the entire roadway for others when doing so

    Imagine an ambulance stuck in traffic from their terrible decision or a bus running late because he can't make his route when going 15mph.

    At the end of the day the club is in the wrong, the car driving in the head is in the wrong. There's no need to make it good guy vs bad guy when both parties are doing things wrong

    They don't have the fucking right to be a rolling barricade by blocking the entire road for everything behind them.

    Jesus christ, the amount of hysterical overreaction and rage in response to daring to suggest the cyclists should keep right and not block everything for everyone, like slow traffic is supposed to do, is patently ridiculous.

    The group cycling standrad is every 2 together, and at the end a relay protection car behind the whole group. Even if they were 60 or 100 they can still ride in 2s and only take 1 side of the road.

    Also, ffs these twats ware doing it for sports... go to a gym, jerk off at home, or block 1 lane , or 2 at worst if the road allows it. Why block the whole road.. shit like this is not even acceptable in protests let alone wankers in expensive carbon-fiber rides playing a hobby or sport games.
