I used to do that during stop and go traffic, after I saw a couple semis doing it. If you can gauge the average speed of traffic and smooth out the irregularities, everyone gets there at the same time, but we all have a much more relaxed drive.

Now I ride a motorcycle so I can simply go around/between traffic.

This isn't a rolling barricade it's just a critical mass of cyclists. When there's enough car traffic to bring travel to a crawl we don't call it a rolling barricade we just call it throughput capacity.
