MPD records show that the department deployed at least 101 personnel to Renee Good’s memorial on the morning of January 9th, where records identified just seven people holding vigil. The deployment was part of Operation Trust and Safety, which generated $1.92 million in overtime in four days. It involved SWAT and Strike teams as well as drones, city cameras, body-worn and helmet cameras, command-post intelligence, person and vehicle checks, and the preservation of footage and other information as police evidence.

I went to a small silent vigil for Scout Schultz at Georgia Tech in 2018 and the cops did this to us. Less than 50 people for our silent vigil and march and they had the whole campus lit up with more then 10 different departments and SWAT waiting for us on every corner and every rooftop.

They sent loud motorcycles to interrupt the only speaking portion. Eventually they surrounded and corralled us with a small army of cops in tactical gear and SUVs, tried to parlay with the leaders of the march. They told the cops to get fucked and they didn't get out of our way until we started walking at them

I didn't like cops before that but now I hate them
