I know a guy that's plausibly connected to people in power. Also kind of underspoken doesn't brag a lot. Anyway grain of salt but he claimed that the bestiality thing got add it on to a seemingly left leaning policy of seeing no prostitutes as perpetrators because of fraternities. Evidently Kash Patel drops anything that's embarrassing like it's a hot rock and tries to just curry favor all the time when he is not doing his main job of looking try hard cool. Supposedly he got forced into making that change because there were so many nepotistic royalty kids who are getting their hazing activities flagged on background checks for SAE and they needed to have that not be a problem for certain appointment hires.

Nah, the FBI does very thorough background checks and a polygraph test, which almost certainly included “Have you ever engaged in bestiality”

    yeah, this is my understanding of how this theory works. it's not just that there could be evidence of bestiality and coercive acts related to, it's that applicants are supposed to confess all these things in the hiring/on-boarding process, including a poly. and if they say they've never done these things and then blow the box on a question, they are rejected.

    the standard is supposed to be, "just tell us what you did, so we know and can project you/the organization from blackmail, etc from outside parties." and then the organization decides what combination of "sins" they can overlook. though, confessing to some activities automatically makes one "unhirable". like probably belonging to a communist org or doing LSD or whatever the list is. and apparently, sex acts with animals.

    this whole public change is about dropping that requirement (no animal sex acts or coercive acts related to), because apparently it was eliminating all these elite institution fraternities who have had it as part of their rituals.
