@artyom@piefed.social @hereiamagain@sh.itjust.works I went looking for full body trackers yesterday and learned about SlimeVR trackers. Have you looked into them? They don't require any lighthouse and seem to be better in some ways than the lighthouse-based trackers (no occlusion), although worse in some other ways (drifting). Also cheaper and open-source though, like, you can apparently build your own if you want. I did read that if you buy them pre-built, make sure you buy from the official source or at least look for good quality ones with good chips etc.

It's definitely the wired lighthouse that's the problem, for me. And the PCVR requirement instead of option.

My brother in law bought a system, I don't remember which, vive maybe? Somewhere around covid. He used it a bit, and then all the parts sat in his basement in a pile. For years. I guess it just wasn't for him. He lives several minutes from me, and repeatedly offered it to me, to at least set up and use long term, but I never had a good place to set it all up, and then when I did move into a new place, I still didn't want the hassle.

That sounds crazy I know. Maybe even privileged, but like, I just didn't want to mess with it.

But now I'll have the option to use the frame whenever and wherever I am. Wire free. Lighthouse free. PC free. Meta free.
