I agree that this is a willful misattribution of the real target of people's anger. Actually its class war, but the media adopts a greatly reduced scope for a scapegoat - what people are mad at is this one product from this one company, not surveillance cameras in general, not the surveillance economy in general, not the fascists who are striving to create an automated stazi to keep themselves in power forever.
