Privacy-focused mail providers (FOSS preferred)? (lemmy.world)

Hi all,

We're looking to get off Rackspace's email as the Spam filtering is pure garbage. We're going to avoid the Googles and MS's of the world, and I'm wondering if this community has suggestions for mail providers that run FOSS services (and are public about that via support), and/or are privacy focused. Note: Proton is a no-go due to having to run an IMAP middle-man service.

Thanks!

Open source software powers most of the Internet, and makes up a large part of the platform Runbox is running on. Now Runbox 7 will become part of this global collaboration, and you can join in by visiting the Runbox repository on Github: https://github.com/runbox.

Not sure how much of their stack is open source but they work with providers who also specialise in open source (see 'Partners'):
