    Acknowledging how failure occurs is not rooting for the success of the enemy.

    Kamala was extremely hard to sell. Harder somehow even than Hillary was. I campaigned for Julia Carson. Kamala was no Julia Carson.

    We didn't avoid "that whole Israel thing", because Harris and Trump were in agreement on that. Maybe if Harris had been against it, she wouldn't have lost. But she chose to support a genocide, over keeping Trump out of office. It sounds to me like she should have had better priorities.

    So, Israel was unavoidable, on that we can agree. Was the new doctrine for ICE unavoidable? Was the complete erosion of any sustem that upheld civilian rights unavoidable? Was the complete dismantling of USAide avoidable? Were the tariff wars unavoidable? Was all the unsafe food unavoidable?

    I guess there was just nothing that could have been helped, they’re just the exact same thing, right? Otherwise your ideals, well, they’d be compromised, and surely nothing is more important than the way you interpret things as they are required to be. Reality is for losers, afterall. Let it be damned.

    Uh, what? No. I don't agree with that at all. It was so easily avoidable, that other candidates were already calling it out as a problem.

    Of course it was avoidable. But Biden decided to go ahead and increase funding to ICE as well. I didn't see Harris criticize that, in fact, I seem to remember her being supportive of ICE.

    No, it wasn't unavoidable. Biden and Obama did that just for funzies. I don't remember her speaking out about that.

    I didn't blame it all on Biden. I also blamed Harris and Obama, and if it wasn't implied enough, I'm blaming the rest of the Democratic party, including their voters.

    You know who else blames the entirety of this situation on Biden in a staggeringly similar manner as you just did?

    Yeah, people who remember more than 6 months ago. People who were paying attention when Biden was stumbling around, fucking up the economy, sending people to torture prisons, and spending a lot of money on building out Trumps projects.

    Yes, you are correct. One election cycle could have changed all of that, if the Democrats actually wanted to fix it. They had 4 years, and a majority. But instead of fixing all of that, they quietly increase funding to things like ICE, torture prisons, and genocide.

    I love it when "stop bombing kids", or "stop sending people to torture prisons", or "stop bypassing Congress to spend money on Trumps projects" by the supposed opposition party is considered "idealism".

    You genuinely have no real grasp on the world we live in. Yeah, at this point in time, that is idealism. We get there the same way we got here, one bite at a time. You don’t change the programming of society in a blink without destroying the system entirely, and even then it’s still not how it works, there is nothing everyone universally agrees on and there never will be. Life, as they say, is a series of compromises. There is an inoperable lack of societal awareness and pragmatism to your ethos.

    Those who learn history are doomed to watch thise that don’t repeat it, as they say.

    Yes, exactly. Progress is carved slowly with a dull knife, it refuses to be done any other way. Again, that’s how they got us here and it’s the only way out. That’s just how things work, no matter how hard you want to keep slamming your head into that wall. It’s not that I advocate for it, it’s just how things are.     Well, no, that's now how it is. We could just stop bombing kids. I've gone my whole life without directly bombing anyone, and it's been pretty easy to do. In fact, it seems to me that it's a lot of work to bomb kids. Same with torturing people, same with supporting rapists.

    The fact that you think it's hard to not bomb kids tells me a lot about your lack of understanding about how the world works.

    It’s not that I advocate for it, it’s just how things are.

    But you are advocating for that. You keep fighting against the people who are trying to stop it from happening.

    You can work to change things one at a time or you can get crushed by it.

    Or there's another option that you keep refusing to consider: The Democrats could just say "Nah, we aren't going to bomb kids", and then actually stop.

    No, I hate them all. I’m saying be realistic about getting to where things can be better. We are in a long suppressed socio political environment that has gulped up and internalized a lot of propaganda. We’re not getting out of this all at once or any time soon, we need to get every bit we can and not complain that there is a whale to be eaten and nobody that is willing nor able to eat the whale in one bite, especially when the only other realistic outcome is just more whales.
