Rapper Macklemore is a vocal supporter of Palestine and Gaza residents. During a recent concert at MetLife Stadium, he yelled "Free Palestine!" onstage, projected images of devastation in the area, and performed protest song "Hind's Hall."

Now, it seems that American venues are not willing to play ball with the Seattle artist, and he has been dropped from Ed Sheeran's Loop Tour.

"After discussions with stakeholders, Macklemore will not be performing on the remaining support dates," according to Messina Touring Group, the promoter of Loop Tour. This news follows backlash from organizations like StopAntisemitism and others, such as pop star Pink.

At this point macklemore isnt surprisingly cool about Palestine. He has been very vocal about this for a long time. The fact that he is basically the only "major" artist willing to speak on this issue is shameful to everyone else, but a credit to him.

Yeah, credit where it's due - he could very easily have kept cranking out apolitical white-boy pop-rap and let the dough roll in freely but instead he has consistently opted to use his platform for good despite it certainly having a direct negative impact on his bottom line. Even more impressive in the current economic landscape where making music even at a high level is less lucrative than it has been in many years and the vast majority of artists feel the need to secure the bag at all costs.
