There's one reason to buy new stuff, that being you don't have that stuff. When I bought my house, I moved in with like two folding chairs and a card table. I eventually bought stuff, and that stuff is all 10-12 years old now. Unfortunately, my kids have murdered my poor Interior Define couch (that I bought before they existed), and so a new couch will come eventually.
