As someone who likes both Cartoons and Anime equally, I have yet to find someone who doesn't get offended by me saying that. They're just animated projects at the end of the day, just made differently through cultural norms. I'll enjoy both like I'll enjoy a burger & ramen, both are good and tasty, don't care which one's better as long I'm munching down

Even the Wikipedia article you referenced doesn't agree with you,

It shows cartoons are satire, caricature, or humor, and can be animated.

Animated images that are not satire, caricature, or humor, are not cartoons.

Moving from fine art to engineering. A gif of how an engine functions is not a cartoon. Not all animated images are cartoons.

No. My argument is proof by counter example. I give many examples where moving images are not cartoons. My other approach is linguistic. In many languages the phrase is animated design, and the cartoon reference stems from the funny pages of a newspaper.

The American "cartoon" banket usage is down to the low cultural impact of foreign media and overdisneyfication.

    Okay, you're reading comprehension is failing. I'm not even getting into that. I'm sorry that you don't grasp how commas, semi-colons, and the word or work in a sentence.

    Now, who says those things aren't cartoons? You? Everyone? People who don't speak English as a first language and therefore imply nuance that native speakers don't? And right or wrong, there are a number of dialects in the English language. Does a flat refer to a tire or a place people live? Which definition is wrong? Is it possible the answer is neither?

    What does the word gay, or coke, mean? Is that today's definition? How about 100 years ago? 200 years ago? Do you think the definition for the word cartoon can't or hasn't changed? Why do you think your opinion on that has any bearing on the fact of it?

    The problem is that you are wanting to refer to all LGBTQ+ people as gay and all soft drinks as coke.

    I don't disagree that it has expanded from print to film. The problem is that it hasn't expanded as far as you think.
