Some modern electric cars can get 500km on 30 minutes of charging from most available chargers. It might take a change to habits but range anxiety is much less of a concern than it once was.

As for the fire risk, yeah EV fires are dangerous but incredibly rare especially with second generation EVs. It's just highly publicized when it happens because it's a new technology and people don't trust new things... And probably a little bit of oil industry narrative pushing.

    Ahh right I used cars when I should have said EVs in general, it's basically just BYD's newer cars. For trucks there's Chevy's Long Range trucks (they do it by charging 2 battery packs in parallel as I understand it), Rivian also gets close at around 400 - 450km.

    That being said most NA domestic options are costly even with incentives and depending on where you're located BYD might be a non-option.
