That was actually one of the few sci fi series I read when I was younger, but in retrospect the Endymion books gets a little sus with Aenea's relationship with Raul and how he does some wibbly wobbly time skip to make their age difference less eyebrow raising. I learned in the last few years that Dan Simmons taught middle school and that set off some alarm bells. But I would probably still recommend them with that caveat, has a lot of cool concepts and I loved imagining the organic dyson sphere.
