At the risk of teaching you something you might already know:

Instead of pulling both sides independently, you should brace your hands against each other. Grab the sides of the bag with your fingers, and have the palms push against each other. That way, as soon as the bag opens, the pressure between your palms is released and you "automatically" stop pulling the bag open.

    Apologies for taking so long to get back to you. My drawing skills suck, so here's a picture:

    The "heels" of my hands push against each other, giving very easy and precise control. It's kind of hard to explain in words how much advantage (pun intended) this method has over just pulling both sides independently. Try it!

    lol, it's simpler than you think. I actually took a video, but couldn't upload a video to Lemmy so I uploaded a still from the video. I placed my phone on the counter with the camera peeking over the edge of the counter.

    And no, I will not be providing a visual aid for this!
