As the title. Why are some things allowed, e.g. the modifications to the wh east wing, while others are halted e.g. some states redistricting plan?

Also, why is the law so weak as to be frequently weilded as a strategic weapon/ shield if youre sufficiently well connected? Same can be asked of religion, actually.

I have zero legal knowledge to answer this question, but the weaponization/shielding of the law and excusal of religious leadership occur because we all suck and are inherently selfish, and this just becomes more obvious when power is involved.

I wish I could say selfish people are just more likely to abuse the law and religious leadership connections to remain on top, but being homeless and seeing how the bottom rung also treats each other kinda just makes me think it's just human nature. Or maybe it's a reverse bell curve of assholes and I just haven't witnessed enough of people in the middle.

Sorry to use a buzzword but it’s the bell curve issue and a scarcity mindset. People who are poor and destitute have a scarcity mindset because they live in real actual scarcity people on the other very far end of rich and privileged have mental illnesses and personality disorders that keep this scarcity mindset alive despite no outside pressure to reinforce it.
