Not anyone's personal opinion on the justifiability of these actions. I think you are confusing their suggestion that the verbal attacks against France/Greenland made the entire world hate the US more than the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan for a comment on whether these invasions were justified, perhaps in a knee-jerk, strawman-like fashion. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Tatar_Nobility@lemmy.ml 3 points 21 hours ago (1 child) The comment above that I replied to had the effect, regardless of intentions, of dismissing and whitewashing the actions of past US administrations, in a way that reduces the illegal invasions of the current administration into an exceptional, idiosyncratic, and one-off behavior. The reality is the US has been hated worldwide for far too long, at least since the end of WW2. I hope I was informative and pertinent enough according to your standards. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] yucandu@lemmy.world 1 point 21 hours ago The comment above that I replied to had the effect, regardless of intentions, of dismissing and whitewashing the actions No, it didn't, that's the "knee-jerk" thing I was talking about earlier.
