    You ever hear a posh British man from the early-mid 1900's talk? The US valley-girl vocal fry has nothing on CS Lewis.

    Finnish is probably the most deep-fried language, though.

    So true. Definitely the most annoying thing about that accent (even more than the HAPPY vowel).

    It is mass media that has made people talk similar. It used to be every county, in the UK and US, would have a distinct accent.

    Since mass media, only the regions that want to keep their accents have them.
