The PSL's Massachusetts campaign, Joe Tache for U.S. Senate, released a collaborative socialist hiphop album with a large group of local Boston-area artists. I wanted to encourage yall to check this out maybe even and share it around:

Spotify

Apple Music

And there was also a music video for the title track/single!

This campaign was the first to get the signatures required to appear on the ballot, are in the midst of doorknocking blitz & holding socialist town halls across the state, and reached the fundraising minimum needed to appear on the general election debate stage! I'm excited to see Joe challenge bourgeois politics in front of the whole state as an organized ML. He is starting to be included on election polls and this growing independent socialist movement is only getting harder to ignore in a state dominated by liberalism!

IMO making forays into the cultural sphere is important and not really seen enough in the modern socialist movement. Shoutout to the multiple MA PSL Branches who have organized for this campaign, especially PSL Boston! These credits and the tracklist are from Tache4MA's instagram.

I wish PSL would put stuff on more than big corporate platforms. Is it only on Spotify and Apple Music? And why do they mostly use Instagram?

I checked on the campaign website's album page and it's also on Soundcloud and [untitled]. I just included the two biggest platforms because so many people use them and I didn't want my post to have too many links. There's also YouTube Music and Tidal but I don't recall those being any less corporate.

As far as the PSL mostly using Instagram, they're trying to reach as many people as possible so it's not unreasonable to prioritize the platforms where the most people(especially people we still need to move) are at for better or worse. I've also seen branches run Facebooks & more to reach a wider variety of ppl and national has a presence on a bunch more platforms for sure. It's about being strategic with our media efforts and, at the end of the day, that means focusing on the big platforms for the foreseeable future.
