Spotted the MAGA plant. "It's all hopeless! You might as well not do it!"

Go back to tasting shoe leather. Fuck off out of here.

Nah, man. I hate the American Dominance as much as the next guy. I'm just telling you to be realistic. There is no independence from US Tech yet. We will reach that some day and I will be glad but right now it is not feasible.
You got to get your mindset in check. If you call anyone a MAGA plant that corrects you, there's something wrong with how you see the world.
I also never said that we should not do anything about it, that's just something you put into my mouth. I want people to get off American Tech, why do you think I'm here on Lemmy? But saying that not a single cent will go to the US is just factually wrong.

This is what a fight between a liberal and a centrist looks like in the US.

The centrist argues they are doing absolutely everything they can to stop Trump. The liberal says, "in addition to stopping Trump, vwe should be fighting to stop funding Israel from genociding Palestine, and maybe healthcare for all."

The centrist, being the fucking idiot they are, plugs their ears and says, "LALALA I'm doing absolutely everything I can to stop Trump. I have absolutely no more capacity to learn anything so that I can more effectively fight Trump because I'm privileged and if I learn anything then in my mind I will not be perfectly fighting Trump."

And honestly? At this point, Centrists are to blame for Trump just as much as MAGA. Look at the record of Centrists losing to MAGA.

The guy you're replying to is doing a lot, right now, and that's a good thing. Just like the centrists were doing a lot 10 years ago. But time forges on, and so should our standards. Raising standards certainly isn't something MAGA would do.

I never disputed that this person might be doing much. I only disputed that they said it would be easy living US Free. Which, in the Tech Sector it is not.
This is not a political debate, this is about facts of patents, dependencies and supply chains.

Hell, this guy has the guts to say that living US free is easy and then goes to work every day to work on a windows machine. It apparently is not easy

What is even more weird by their logic it is easy to live American free cause if anything is not manufactured in the US then it is not American. I mean that makes it very easy.
