Also having to have “the talk” so they don’t get freaked out when they first see those instances.

    I love that you can just interact with people who’ve been brainwashed by different propaganda from yourself on here. It can give you perspective on your own inherent biases, even if they’re not as severe as giving the ML Pass to dictators who are not even vaguely communist.

    And if/when you're sick of it, you can block it all by server, as opposed to centralized social media where you have to block every nazi sock puppet in the universe individually.

    Ye it's a bit of a tough sell. "Yeah it's great!... once you block these specific instances... yeah, see the trouble with having social media decentralized in a way that anyone can spin up an instance means that anyone can spin up an instance... including people you maybe wish wouldn't..."
