His understanding of monoculture is not based on the reality of those two nations. While they are not big immigrant countries like Australia or Canada they still have ethnic indigenous groups who speak other languages and they have multi-faith populations in addition to small immigrant populations. It's well explained in the following article which makes the point that North Korea would be a better example. Someone should remind Newman and Hanson next time they speak this nonsense.
