As a Minnesotan, we're the only south Canada and I'll apologize passive-aggresively to anyone that disagrees.

    Born & raised in the N Midwest, and one of the running "jokes" re: Canada was that the US'd annex it as soon as it ran outta trees/maple syrup/flannel/etc. 🙄 Buncha sub-literate mouthbreathers, those "role models", eh?

    Fair. Apparently, a childhood in the ol' LP still gets finicky after all these years. 😝

    Fun fact: for all of those formative years, I'd heard the UP residents referred to as "yoopers". Hell, a fairly common bumper sticker back then was, and I quote: "So ya to da yu pee, eh?" —which is "yooper" for "So, headed North, hmm?"

    Fast forward to me leaving the Midwest for all sorts of places, domestic and foreign, only to hear for the first time that the yoopers had a name for those in the LP.

    "Trolls", because we live under the bridge. Clever fuckers. 🤣

    Take off, ya hoser.
