▲ 41 ▼ Why do Sonic games not have kickass intros with butt rock theme songs anymore? Sonic and the Black Knight was the last one and it was also the last time you could beat the final boss to a kickaas buttrock theme song. Why don't we have this anymore?

They have the sauce. Nobody was asking for Shadow the Hedgehog specifically, but Sonic Team went and did it and we should be thankful imo that Sega ever let their mascot engage in such sincere silliness. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 6 child comments replies: [–] Moomoo_Milk@hexbear.net 10 points 2 weeks ago (4 children) People can enjoy whatever media they want; That’s just how I felt living through the releases. It always struck me as odd and felt really out of place as someone that grew up with the Mega Drive/Genesis games. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] Dort_Owl@hexbear.net 10 points 2 weeks ago Valid. It took the ten-year-olds who played it coming of age for the consensus to shift, which makes sense. Been interesting to watch. I should also note however that Sonic CD had two vocal themes, both of which slap, so y'know. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Moomoo_Milk@hexbear.net 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 child) I honestly didn’t know that about CD. I didn’t know a single soul with the add-on, let alone the game. I only played it once a couple years ago. I genuinely didn't like it at all. I have forgotten most things about it aside from really not liking the time travel mechanic. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [–] ashinadash@hexbear.net [S] 5 points 2 weeks ago True, most people played it through the Win95 or Gamecube/PS2 rereleases. permalink fedilink source parent [–] BelieveRevolt@hexbear.net 3 points 2 weeks ago In case you didn't know, there's a NASCAR arcade game with more of that sweet Crush 40 buttrock. permalink fedilink source parent [–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 5 points 2 weeks ago Sonic in general does. permalink fedilink source parent
