I can think of several arguments for needing a roommate. None of them have to do with making my bed. Perhaps that would fall into the "wife" category, but it's hardly a priority. I can make my own damn bed just fine.

Roommates make your bed, no? Clean your dishes? Vacuum the place? Keep the WiFi running? Makes sure everything is paid up on time? Why wouldn't you want someone who cleans up for you and otherwise stays out of your way?
