They were threatening her family. If you know anything about the FSB you know these are not idle threats. She chose to cooperate to prevent harm to her family and at the same time tried to get out from under the assignment she got from the FSB.

Reducing this to a prisoners dilemma is really not helpful for predicting real people's responses to situations like that.

    Her family is safe now? I doubt it. This is exactly the prisoners' dilemma and why that thought experiment exists.

    Russia is happy someone as visible as this is showing they were turned.

    This sucks all around, for her, for anyone who hates fascism.
