Why would you admit to that?

Because Republicans hate education. Most of the maga crowd will cheer this as a way to get back at the "wokes", or "intellectual elites".

I can't think of anything dumber than labeling intelligence as evil....

So of course Republicans do that

Voting a convicted felon sex offender pedophile serial liar insurrectionist gassy orange fatman with a weird yellow comb-over and a bad case of fronto-temporal dementia as president?

My dad is maga. The reason he would say is the teachers union protects bad teachers and just shuffles them around.

Don’t agree with it but that’s the talking point.

Are people really upset at... bad teachers? with everything else going on?? Like I also had a few bad teachers as a kid, but I also had a future with a biosphere that can sustain life. Maybe we should focus on the actually existential one here.

Teacher's Unions aren't perfect and there have been some valid complaints about them, but that's basically every union. Honestly, my biggest complaint is that teachers have unions and they're still not paid enough.

But at any rate, this is typical conservative rhetoric. "We've found (or invented) one thing we can complain about, so rather than having a rational, calm discussion about the state of things and how we can improve that thing, we want to cause the most drama, scare everybody the most, and tear everything down, while promising to replace it with something better, a promise that we'll never, ever, in a million years, deliver on."

they arnt, even in blue areas while thier wages are much higher, the hcol kinda negates it, unless you somehow can make it to 10+years as a teacher you will get close to 100k, usually teachers often supported by thier SOs most of the time.

it should be 100k from the start. they are dealing with admins with red tape bratty children, unruly parents, children that arnt willing to learn,,,etc.
