I've heard a "news" segment discussing the popularity of ready made meals from the grocery store, but that does reflect reality or is it mere fiction? If it were the case: is it because they don't know how to cook at all? Is it due to lack of time left for meal preparation after work or due to cost of living so purchasing those is cheaper?

my grocery has chicken for 5 dollars and some sandwiches for a buck. back when fast food places had dollar menus these could not compete but now they can.
