Circular trade is circular. All this talk of US-Canada trade war is going to be miserable for everyone. But each side is too self-centered and vindictive to give a shit, particularly when the bulk of the pain is going to land on the most economically vulnerable.

    I have my criticisms of Mark Carney and his Liberal government, but you can't really "both sides" the tensions between the USA and Canada right now. Only one side is too self-centred and vindictive, and it's not Canada. Canada has been thrown into the position of constantly having to defend itself from unprovoked attacks by the USA.

    I can when we're talking about Doug fucking Ford. This isn't a Canada v US thing, it's a Doug Ford Reactionary Populism versus Donald Trump Reactionary Populism pissing contest. They've got functionally identical politics, the same basket of empty promises, even the same damned photo-op strategy. Canada's Fords are carbon copies of America's Trumps.

    Canada has been thrown into the position of constantly having to defend itself from unprovoked attacks by the USA.

    Literally the Trump line about the US and Mexico. Almost word for fucking word.
