I like how there is zero video entertainment on other planets. Like Earth is the only world to come up with the boob-tube. Nobody on other planets were glued to a video screen they were always out and about shopping on the markets.

The light show that put you in a trance and slowly let you die is the closest I can remember.

RONON: So people just sit and watch this box for hours at a time?
    JOHN: Yeah, people do.
    TEYLA: Is it that engaging?
JOHN: Depends what's on it. There are lots of programmes on dozens of channels, every day, all day.
RODNEY: Most of which are fictional representations of ridiculously attractive people in absurd situations.
JOHN: There are educational programmes, all sorts of documentaries. Not many people watch 'em but, uh, well, they're on.
RONON: And that's what everybody on your planet does for entertainment? Watch a box?

    EDIT: There was "Space Race"

Forgot about the race one, that whole episode felt more Dr Who than SG1. But I could just be confusing the two episodes, Dr Who had the one where they were stuck in traffic and felt similar.

I have never seen Dr. Who, but that episode indeed felt off for Stargate. Suddenly, there is this vibrant everyday Interstellar alien cross-culture happening. That suddenly happened again in "The Ties that Bind", when Vala is leading them around the galaxy to various markets and whatnot and we see that these various alien cultures have a lot of contact with one another.

Eh, it's a big galaxy. You've also got the Tollan, the Nox, and the Aschen running around in their respective parts of the galaxy.

There were, what, roughly 210 episodes of the show? So we're picking about 200 random places out of 100 billion stars. There's still a lot of room for entire Federations worth of stuff in other parts of the galaxy (sorry to cross fandoms for that comparison, lol).

I mean it definitely happened too quickly, but from I remember it was mostly planets that were formerly under Goa'uld occupation that started using their tech. I never could figure out how her father was some kind of smuggler/swindler since she ended up getting taken as a host and must have been under their rule.

I've always been interested to know how the four races ended up losing contact with each other. Actually, how the hell did they even find the Nox to begin with? They only occupy one planet from what I remember.

With the Nox cloaking tech, it was most likely the Nox finding them, not the other way around.

They may have been more outgoing before the coalition formed, and become isolationists after it ended.

In Stargate it’s canon that Earth is further along technically because Earth was kinda forgotten about. Other human civilizations have been artificially kept back as slaves. There were a couple of them though that figured out how to advance anyway like the Genai, and they did have 50s level TVs.

Even the SG teams didn't use those when they should. They should have been sending teams though the stargate with ATVs, motorcycles, etc. to ease their exploration. But no, they were always traveling on foot.

Despite the many things wrong with Stargate Infinity, that was something it did right. Basically everyone had some personal transport vehicle, and they weren't always that futuristic. They definitely had vehicles like this in the '90s. ...just not the jetpacks.
