I understand the modular system and world gen possibilites of voxel based games. It is a cool thing..... I just wish people would do something else with it other than just reinvent Minecraft over and over again.

    perhaps reiterate rather than reinvent?
Mind you there are novel concepts.

I guess general purpose game engines are able to support more concepts, so luanti doesn't benefit those cases.

Yeah, I think for me it (many of Luanti's games) reiterates MC's aspects more than I'd like. (aside from the completely non-MC games, which can be hit-or-miss IMO)

This probably could be fixed, though it's a somewhat-specific laundry list of things (one is less inventory management due to clutter) so I imagine it's unlikely someone else will. I lack motivation, especially lacking a starting point. Although Luanti does seem like it's probably easier to create mods/games for (assuming I haven't missed something with MC, unless you could count data packs but I was gone before that made it to JE).

It's a bit of tonal whiplash trying those one-after-the-other (especially funny that Repixture has hunger but seemingly no sprinting, AoM is the opposite).

I like a lot of ways AoM does things, though I don't really like the fuel/cooking system (charcoal esp.) nor how they handle block movement (pistons esp., though disappointing that ropes/chains/block-welder don't work via the gate system AFAICT, and can only place 1 chain with node placer).

it takes some getting used to on how the fuel/cooking system in AoM works, regarding Repixture you could add sprinting very quickly to it with just Hbsprint mod by tacotexmex or tweak it with also the Stamina Redo by TenPlus1

For smelting I almost can accept it, though it still feels a bit odd how ungenerous the fuel is compared to hand-mining stone and unlimited durability (normal) tools. Making charcoal is worse, the firepit has no in/out label like others so I can only assume I hit some hidden inventory input cap and wasted a bunch of wood. Either that, or making charcoal that way is only a side-effect?

I'm always running out of coal/torches, even got to the point of making lanterns but I don't think they cover much more area. The worn lantern is neat, but doesn't last that long for what it does.

Also it's weird to have at least 3 different ways to cook things and then still making soup just by crafting it.
