[–] ReluctantZen@feddit.nl 1 point 4 days ago (1 child) WHY AM I NOT ALLOWED TO PUT SUBTITLES ON WITH THE ENGLISH AUDIO‽‽‽ IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO PROVIDE CAPTIONS I NEED SOMETHING) My guess: because the English subtitles will not match with the English dub. I can imagine that would be even more confusing/distracting. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Unique_Emerald_Sol_I@ani.social 3 points 4 days ago I get where you're coming from but bruh I have piss-poor hearing (probably genetic, too). I've always watched anime with subtitles even in English because I WILL miss things otherwise. Hell, half the reason I tend towards subs isn't for the dumb notions of purity of translation but because 90% of the time the English audio balancing sucks so bad that I literally can't hear things even will the volume turned ALL the way up. I swear those Blu-rays I got have English audio tracks at half the volume of the Japanese. permalink fedilink source parent
