I think that if we want to be free from google and apple duopoly on mobile we need to embrace linux phones. It is the only solution. Google is trying to close the golden cage slowly and we need to escape on other operating system also on mobile. We re only delay a problem. We need phone preinstalled with linux for mass adoption. We need more apps for linux phones and more userbase.

Interesting. I busted my Pixel's USB port, so this is a project for my next phone. When that time comes, is there a central clearing house for information on open-source phone OSs? When I do a bald search, it's mostly suggestions for Ubuntu Touch and Sailfish.

Too many trees, not enough forest. Edit: Yes, that is exactly what I was asking for, but I guess I should have asked for a place that might just regularly review and summarize and compare OSs so I could research which one I might want to install.

But I do have a Moto G-Power from the generation that was good. I wonder if it would be worth it to update the battery and use that.
