Yeah. The US is one of the most favorable environments on the planet for fascism and anticommunism, and they're fumbling it because they don't actually understand how it works. It has to actually give some small benefit to the ingroup, this is literally giving nothing even to their core base. It has to tie in to the national mythos and national iconography, this is all weird Nazi larp shit that embarrasses the suburbanites. It is supposed to take power at a time of acute crisis. The decline is undeniable, but all the messaging is about how everything is great actually, never been better.
The actual crisis that gave rise to this is ~12 billionaires realizing people don't like them and spiraling into delusions and paranoia, instead of just writing a check to rename a university after themselves or whatever. They're throwing a tantrum because they can't run their own system effectively. This would-be fascism can't capitalize on any of the real structural problems.
This incompetent fascism larp might actually immunize society against it, while the real maximum crisis is still some years away. Could be perfect timing.

There is absolutely zero incentive, while the revolutionaries will have absolutely every incentive.
Only a new deal will make this change. The question is whether they realise that or not before the time comes. No amount of clinging to historical propaganda like a comfort blanket will make it work in different material conditions, it worked at a certain time because of certain conditions that no longer exist.
The more they lean into it in the wrong conditions the more they just teach people that communism might be for them.
