yeah but Gumtree seems dead af lol. Idk, maybe Garage won’t go anywhere. i’m a cyber security professional not a business person lol
For what it’s worth, Gumtree now belongs to eBay I believe. What they get out of it, I have no idea.
The last thing I sold, I used Gumtree. I waited ages to sell it, I didn’t have to and it ended up going to the right person which was important for this item. It still worked okay for me.
I like this, I think it’s worth getting behind.
used to be. Gumtree.com.au is owned by some company called The Market Ltd. based out of Perth. their share price has been tanking for years though, so i assume they’re just letting gumtree die
Okay. Pretty sure it was eBay owned when I last sold
It's the place to be if you want to buy an ebike or electric scooter from the, uh, legitimate owner, that for some reason just happens to be missing its charger.
Does Garage offer something Gumtree doesn't?
a simple privacy policy, clean ad-free browsing, and most importantly: dark mode. but look, not really. if you take a look at Gumtree tho, it’s pretty dead. searching for a pottery wheel around Melbourne has listings with ages from the earliest 18 weeks and the average of about one year. marketplace came in and ate Gumtree, so unless it does something radically different soon, i think it’s just going to die.
