How can you have a drop more than 90 degrees?
It curves under itself and you drop partially upside down.
Obtuse angle. If you're going up, then suddenly going down, it can be more than 90 degrees. The starkest example would be a change from going up vertically to going down vertically, which would be a drop of 180 degrees. And would probably kill you.
