Meanwhile, the latest attempt by Congress to rein-in president Donald Trump’s attacks in the Middle East failed in the Senate on Thursday.

First off FUCK FETTERMAN

Confused by the wording and headline

Headline says failed but quote in article seems like it went against the war

Democratic senator John Fetterman voted with Republicans to sink the measure. But notably, Republicans senators Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski and Rand Paul voted in favor of the motion to prevent Trump from continuing hostilities against Iran.

So wtf is the result?

The normal split in the Senate is 53R / 47D. With Mitch out of order, it's down to 52/47. So three R's voting the for it would have been enough to make the measure pass, if all D's voted as well. But the vote got Fettermaned, and failed 49-50.

How I understand is that the resolution needs to pass to stop hostilities. It actually failed to pass with 49 votes for and 50 against. It would have passed if Fetterman wasn't such a piece of shit.

Despite some Republicans ostensibly trying to do the right thing, the effort failed because Fetterman is a piece of shit.
