Inspired by a post I saw on AskReddit (which has now been removed). What is something you believe is growing because of young people?

I have a 12 yo. Definitely a different childhood than I had, but not less helpless or ignorant than I was at that age. Less curious, i.e. in school and sciences, but that could be just a personality thing.

There are exceptions, but overall there a decline in self help or curiosity for self learning. We even see it at work with the new engineers.

I'm in the picture and i don't like it.

I don't want to read the 5 page manual when i only want o know a paragraph's worth of informaion from it. The problem is, which paragraph ๐Ÿ˜ญ

And if i read the whole thing and remembered it, I would have a more complete mental model for next time.

But I'm typically drawn to breadth rather than depth. I read the whole TIS-100 game manual, but don't usually manage to read man pages in full.

To be fair, it's a cracker of a manual, and you cannot finish the game without being pretty familiar with it.

Yeah, it is one of the best manuals I've ever read.
