It is so bizarre how Americans call all pasta "noodles".

    It's not all pasta. The small bead types or star shapes aren't generally called noodles. But otherwise what's wrong with calling an egg and flour mixture in a string or ribbon shape a noodle? It's a generic ingredient/shape descriptor. Is it only Asian cuisines for you?
