Watched Love Letter (1995) a Shunji Iwai film with J-pop idol Miho Nakayama and it was really good. It's set during winter during all of it (if I remember) and it features his same really sweet, quirky story beats. Really like winter films in general. Also, finally watched Chinatown which was amazing. It's so bleak and the score is really beautiful.
