I'm not sure if there is a lot of subtext in the movie 300. The writing in that movie is pretty minimal and straight forward. It's just a shoddy framework for some interesting (for the time) visual effects. That is unless you think Zack Snyder was purposely creating media that would fascinate future chuds for years to come.
