December 2025 Lindsey Graham and Democrat Dick Durbin introduced a bipartisan bill to repeal Section 230. Section 230 is a law from 1996 that allows social media websites to exist because it makes website operators not liable for data uploaded by users. Repealing Section 230 would be the end of social media.

and wouldn't that be just awful.
Joking aside I'm not real sure if I feel that social media still benefits us more by allowing an avenue of connection more than it harms us via astroturfing and mass manipulation at this point.
No section 230 would probably mean no hexbear.
