Otherwise known as not doing shit and hoping someone else will actually regulate the market or perhaps a mystical invisible hand of their will power will do it. Who knows.
I know a lot of old crotchety elders that tried this strategy as well. It didn't work out very well for them, buuuuuut you do YOU!

Don’t buy consumer products from these companies or support it through purchase. This is a choice you are actively making. Forcing a company to provide you a consumer product sounds, quite honestly, fucking ridiculous.
No one is forcing you to buy, but if you think your preference is going to change the world you are wrong. This isn't just my opinion, it has been borne out many times thoughout history where governments have had to regulate companies over safety concerns.
