They did this the day after it was announced they're spending 3 billion dollars to fully acquire the Toronto Maple Leafs. I bet if they cut their top executives pay a bit, they could have kept people employed and those stations on air.

This. 3B produces way more than enough money a year to pay these 230 people $100,000 a year perpetually. But billionaire vanity is more important. The Leafs don’t need Rogers.
