It's absolutely incredible to me that people are still parroting this 4 years into the war. GDP is not a measure of real economy, and in terms of productive economy Russia is very clearly far ahead of the collective west as evidenced by the fact that it's outproducing all of NATO militarily right now. Vast majority of western economies are now ephemeral things like the service industry and the AI bubble which don't produce anything of tangible value.

    More than 100k people lost their job ,because ‘ai bubble’ . Russia outproduces Europe in certain critical items but not the US, and not in advanced systems like aircraft or missiles

    The AI bubble props up a bigger chunk of the US economy than dotCom bubble did, and the economy back then was far more diversified. When it pops there will be huge repercussions across all sectors. Russia outproduces both Europe and US in pretty much all advanced systems. Meanwhile, the US has burnt through most of its existing stocks and is now unable to produce more because it is unable to refine rare earths on its own, and China has cut off access.     Correct it's only a meaningful measure for countries not lying on numbers. So Russia is already out and probably a lot worse than what GDP would suggest. 😂

    Russian domestic industry has been developing

    Name something they produce that is not instantly shipped to Ukraine to get trashed there? 😂

    It's not a meaningful measure period because it doesn't measure what sectors of the economy contribute to GDP. Any actual economist will explain this to you.

    Name something they produce that is not instantly shipped to Ukraine to get trashed there? 😂

    How to say you guzzle propaganda uncritically without saying it.
