i think it’s more to the inherent bonapartism of anything right or left populism: one charismatic figure appearing over the cracks, but due to nature of government fundamentally serving porky, and thus being useless to the left. the right can take bonapartism easily, it’s not even devils bargain it’s just a bargain for them, outside of peron, i don’t think those schismatic figures ever threatened capital as a whole.

obama or trump don’t threaten capital, they just redistribute factions, but same goes for potential bernie presidency. while leftists will get impeded at every turn, if they try to wield the power for real (i include shady whispers of positions in ngo after retirement as a real impedance in this, not just quiet sabotage from professionals), like syriza
