After uniting all of New York with that victory speech he gave at the Knicks parade, I can see this happening.
For real though, instructing NYPD not to interfere with protestors trying to block netanyahu is the best case scenario we could possibly expect from Mamdani on this, and even that is unlikely. He doesn't have power here and it would cost a lot of political capital only to make him look weak when he loses
