"For users with accessibility needs who cannot use hand gestures to complete the challenge, reCAPTCHA continues to provide visual and audio challenges, and develop more accessible and secure alternatives"

So what's the point?

They also disable the "accessible" captchas on a whim when they feel like it, so this is also a lie.

Are you new? That option will eventually go away. Especially for people who cannot confirm that they need it.

Instead of coming up with a better way to do all this, they'll spend that time and money coming up with a way to confirm that people are actually blind and actually need the alternative method.

Just go ahead and give us access to your medical records to confirm. We promise to use this information in a completely normal way, and will certainly not abuse it at all. We can be trusted with your data.

Speed/convenience.

It's like phones people use their thumb or face to unlock even though that's objectively less secure than a good password.

I feel like this is a slow boil eventually they will make it mandatory that you need to have your fave scanned.

It's worth mentioning by 2027 all new vehicles have to have facial scanners installed and they watch you 247.
