I've said it before but he's not going to be anything like the ogre. The ogre never ran a progressive campaign, he just had a working class aesthetic in a way that seemed genuine. He did not have progressive (for a Dem) policies. Platner does. Will he deliver on them? I dunno, he sure seems to have a soft spot for war crimes so you can't trust him, but he's consistent laying out one of the most progressive programs of any Dem senate candidate. He won't suddenly become a Trump-supporting, ICE-loving, Israel-slobbing lunatic like the ogre who is proudlymore right wing than your average Republican voter. That was essentially in line with the ogre's positions.
Platner's program is left of Bernie, including regarding the US military and Israel. He'll probably vote closer to what people on this site want than anybody else in the Senate. But it's barely going to make any difference at all because it's just electionslop.
People who think he's gonna be the ogre II will look a fool in a year or two.
does even bernie call for rebuilding the american military?
From Bernie's site:
So better on the military funding at least as stated here. What I really meant was "imperialism" but wasn't feeling generous enough to either of them to use the term. Platner has a stronger stance on Israel than Bernie for sure.
Not that I want to fight to defend Platner or anything, I just think comparisons with the ogre are way off.
even more insidious than the ogre. At least he's obviously evil now. This guy is worse, since like obama, he's another opportunity for people to have hope in vote blue.
And yeah, bernie is a dyed in the wool zionist. He's nostalgic for golda meir, not surprised his settler tendencies show up in his policies
