And while the political environment has worsened for the president and his party, Democrats have yet to convince voters that they offer a compelling alternative. The poll indicated that Democrats have not improved their political brand, even after more than a year of trying to demonstrate that they understand the concerns of voters and can stand up to Mr. Trump.

Just 26 percent of voters said they were satisfied with the Democratic Party.

The discontent includes a significant number of Democrats who expressed reservations about their own party. Forty-four percent of Democrats described themselves as unsatisfied, while just 23 percent of Republicans said the same about their party.

“They’re just not fighting back hard enough in my eyes,” said Matthew Berryhill, 35, a recruiter from Marietta, Ga., a pivotal battleground area in the state’s key Senate race this year, who described himself as a progressive Democrat. “They come out with strong statements and strong words, and no action to back it up.”

Frankly the fact a third party can't take advantage of this unprecedented collapse of popular support for both parties, unfortunately proves the two-party system is structurally rooted past even the foundation and into the bedrock of this country

This was the year third parties were supposed to become viable; instead, their inability to scale has become a unique political phenomenon that has reached the point where it's safe to say third parties are de facto structurally illegal

but it is rather interesting there is just intentional silence on them trying in any mainstream media (including podcasters here). that aside legal challenges greens and psl get during national already point to some illegality of thought.

obviously, as an outside observer, if something is not reported by internet or msm, it doesn't exist for me, if they are doing a lot of door knocking campaigns, but polls still report only r/d races, it's still wont register as anything until observation (election)

It's not that a third party can't take advantage, it's that most third parties don't want to genuinely try and would rather cozy up to the uni-party for short term financial and electoral advantage, and most US leftists would rather cling to entryist delusions of "taking over the Democratic party" than actually doing the hard work of building an independent workers' party.

This is something where you have to be willing to think in decades instead of two to four year electoral cycles.

You have to be willing to accept the destruction of the Democratic party, which too many US leftists are still subconsciously emotionally attached to, thanks to lingering liberalism embedded deep in their psyche. Even as they constantly criticize it they can't bring themselves to completely divorce themselves from it.

They are in an abusive relationship where they keep going back to their abuser thinking this time i can change him.
