Regardless if it was staged or not, no one cares that it happened. That's gotta sting the orange one's ego.
The only thing people care about is that it (regardless of legitimacy) succeeds or not. We have bottles on ice and whatnot
Which is point against the conspiracy theorists, since he hasn't gotten any benefit from it.
His ego and the yes men who surround him probably told him that people would care. That's not really a point to either side.
There is also the case to be made that they're really incompetent, yes.
I mean, did you already forget about 6th January 2021? That was a failure too.

Sorry but what? The capitol attack was organised by Trump and his cronies. There was nothing organic about it.
That doesn't mean it was "staged." Those people weren't actors.
He told them to show up and he told them to attack the capitol. It wasn't organic, but planned out in the open. Staging something requires being secretive.
If I may quote you, your original argument was
The point wasn't that it was secret or not. You claimed that the fact that the assassination attempt failed to bring him sympathy points was a point against it.
I provided the insurrection in 2021 as counter point of another thing they planned but didn't get any benefit from.
